Morgan Hill pours it on in jamboree against Oak Grove, wins

Morgan Hill – The season kicked off for the Morgan Hill Raiders Pop Warner football program with a jamboree Sunday and the Junior Pee Wees got off to a great start with a 34-7 win over Oak Grove.
Morgan HIll’s running game pounded out 135 yards on 30 carries and scored four touchdowns and the defense forced three turnovers in the win.
Drew Glines led the offensive attack with seven carries for 53 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Taylor Turnipseed picked up 50 yards rushing on nine carries and scored a touchdown. He also completed three of his four passes for 56 yards.
Trevor Beardon caught two of those passes for 28 yards and also had a 25-yard touchdown run for Morgan Hill.
Alex Della Maggiore highlighted the strong defensive attack when he recovered one of the three fumbles that Morgan Hill forced and returned it for a touchdown.
Mitch Crowley paced the defense with 10 tackles, including a 1/2 sack, and he also forced and recovered a fumble.
Brandon Duran finished with seven tackles, 1 1/2 sacks and a forced fumble. Kyle Quadros had nine tackles and forced and recovered a fumble.
Andrew Knight also helped spearhead the strong defensive effort with six tackles and one pass deflected.
Morgan Hill finished with 191 yards of total offense on the day, including an average of 8.1 yards per play on first down to lead to the dominating win.
