lose 69-64 to Oak Grove in an overtime thriller in San Jose. Travis
Saenz and Ben Vater went for career highs with 27 and 21 points,
respectively, for the Bulldogs.

Wednesday the Bulldogs overcame an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter only to lose 69-64 to Oak Grove in an overtime thriller in San Jose.
Seniors Travis Saenz and Ben Vater went for career highs with 27 and 21 points, respectively, for Sobrato, which scored 26 points in the final eight minutes to quarter to tie it 57-all at the end of regulation.
The Eagles outscored Sobrato 12-6 in overtime for their third win in four games.
Rodwell Ong had 16 points, and Nate Vieira and Dubem Awuzie scored 15 apiece to lead Oak Grove (10-6, 3-3).
- Live Oak ended a rough 1-3 road stint with a 49-45 loss to Andrew Hill on Wednesday, dropping the Acorns to fifth in the West Valley Division.
Live Oak received 12 points from Andrew Poonia and eight from Austin Carvalho.
The Acorns (6-10, 3-3-) play six of their final eight regular-season games at home, starting at 7 p.m. Friday against Del Mar.
GIRLS SOCCER
Alissa Pham scored in the second half with assists by Megan Rauschnot and Macey Dunne, and Live Oak beat Leland 1-0 Wednesday to continue bouncing back in the Mount Hamilton Division.
The Acorns (7-3, 2-3), winners of two straight, return home to face Del Mar at 3:15 p.m. Friday.
- Sobrato keeper Maggie Cropp collected her third shutout of the season Wednesday, as the Bulldogs played to a scoreless tie with visiting Del Mar.
Sobrato (3-4-4, 1-2-2) gained some momentum, following back-to-back losses at Leigh and Santa Teresa, the top two teams in the Mount Hamilton Division. The Bulldogs host Willow Glen at 3:15 p.m. Friday.
WRESTLING
Sobrato dropped a few key matches and lost Wednesday’s Santa Teresa Division dual at SHS, 36-21, to unbeaten Pioneer.
The Bulldogs (1-2) built a 15-6 lead with back-to-back pins by Bryan Gomes (122 pounds) and Daniel Johnson (128), and a 10-5 victory by Thomas Burback (140).
The Mustangs rallied with wins in three of the next four matches, including Matt Slyngstad’s upset of Zach Zhang at 154 pounds. Sobrato forfeited at 197, 222 and 285 pounds.
