Locsin, who normally saves up for weekend tournaments, gave the
home crowd a treat by bumping up from 113 pounds to wrestle Matt
Pham at 120. Locsin pinned him in 58 seconds, extending his record
to 21-0 this season.
It was more support than the Acorns (2-0) needed.

Locsin, who normally saves up for weekend tournaments, gave the home crowd a treat by bumping up from 113 pounds to wrestle Matt Pham at 120. Locsin pinned him in 58 seconds, extending his record to 21-0 this season.
It was more support than the Acorns (2-0) needed. After spotting Silver Creek a 12-0 lead with forfeits at 160 and 170 pounds, Live Oak scored 54 consecutive points, including pins by Derek Peralta (195 pounds), Nick Locsin (132), Josh Acosta (138), Tyler Pederson (145) and Isaiah Locsin. Peralta wrestled up a weight and beat Michael Trozzo in 2:27.
Amy Fearnside (113) added an impressive 10-7 victory over Alvin Nguyen (ranked No. 9 in the section at 106), scoring a go-ahead takedown in the third period.
Austin Langford followed with a 17-12 victory over Kevin Ngo at 126, also for Live Oak. Nick Locsin pinned Renn Bransfield in 3:30; Acosta beat Isaiah Trujillo in 5:50, and Pederson defeated Joel Demarest in 4:30.
Sebastian McGriff won 7-2 over Ramon Lucatero at 152 pounds for Silver Creek (1-1).

- Sobrato received pins from Steve Canela, Bryan Gomes, Thomas Burback, Zach Zhang and Evan Enright but lost Wednesday’s dual at Leland High School, 42-36.
The Bulldogs fell to 1-1 in the Santa Teresa Division.
Canela needed 43 seconds to put away Jason Zucchero at 113 pounds. Gomes defeated Daniel Kulinich in 1:07 at 126 pounds; Burback pinned Calvin LeGrassich in 5:12 at 145; Zhang took down Luke McCrary in 1:28 at 152, and Enright beat Trent Geronimo in 58 seconds at 160.
Daniel Johnson (132) edged Lewis Van Diggelen 4-0, and Brandon Lefore (170) won 7-1 over Alan Highland, also for Sobrato.
GIRLS SOCCER
Sobrato suffered its first loss in the Mount Hamilton Division by 2-0 score Wednesday at Santa Teresa.
Sobrato had a chance at a huge point in the standings until Santa Teresa (5-2-1, 2-0-1) struck in the second half with goals by Katie Hadfield and Noelle Lara.
The Saints, unbeaten in five matches, are tied for first place with Leigh, whom the Bulldogs (3-3-3, 1-1-1) play at 3:15 p.m. Friday in San Jose.
- Live Oak slipped to 0-3 in conference play for the first time since 2006-07 Wednesday with a 3-2 loss at Leigh.
Live Oak (3-2 overall) can make amends against an old rival in Willow Glen at 3:15 p.m. Friday in Mount Hamilton Division play.
