Other MHPD incidents

Disturbance

Someone reported two juveniles were lighting newspapers on fire in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Park Way Friday. The kids were reportedly about 6 and 17 years old, according to police. Authorities arrived and determined that no property or structures were in danger, but the juveniles’ parents were contacted. The incident was reported about 4:35 p.m.

Petty theft

Someone stole a cell phone worth about $499 from the Sprint store, 1041 Cochrane Rd., according to police. The thief’s wife allegedly distracted store employees while her husband hid the phone on his person and stole it. The crime was reported about 6 p.m. Saturday.

Theft

Two Safeway shoppers stole four 30-packs of beer from the store at 840 East Dunne Ave., about 3 a.m. Sunday, police said. Two adult males were seen leaving the store, carrying the beer without paying. An employee told them to stop but they continued out the front door. The entered a silver car driven by a third suspect and fled the area.

Disturbance

An angry McDonald’s drive-thru customer entered the store and poured his drink all over the front counter, according to police reports. The man, described as a heavy-set Hispanic man in his 40s, continued to yell at the restaurant’s employees and refused to leave. The incident was reported about 5:35 p.m. Sunday, at 201 Vineyard Town Center.
