Live Oak sophomore prop Jose Ortega added two tries, and Valley Christian senior wing Cam Weirshauser contributed a fourth to extend South Valley’s lead, 20-0, at the break.

South Valley’s junior varsity squad lost 34-0 at Santa Rosa on Jan. 21.

The Bucks never got on track, as the more experienced Santa Rosa team built a 22-0 lead in the first half and powered away late in the second.

The Bucks’ defensive resolve tightened after the break, but South Valley could not muster much offense.

Santa Rosa was held scoreless in the second half until the waning moments, when the hosts poured in two quick tries to finish strong.
