After missing each other in last Tuesday’s Mount Hamilton Division dual meet, Live Oak’s Isaiah Locsin and Overfelt’s Alexis Arciga squared off in a marquee 113-pound final at the 48th annual Overfelt Classic on Saturday, with Locsin dominating, 20-9.

Locsin (32-0) entered the event ranked first in the Central Coast Section and second in the state. The sophomore had no problem putting away Arciga (30-4, No. 5 in the CCS) for his sixth title of the season. Locsin won his other three matches in the tournament by fall.

Locsin helped the Acorns score the eighth highest with 114 points out of 40 schools. That included a second-place finish by freshman Jonathan Robles-Rials at 108 pounds, a fifth-place effort by Tyler Pederson at 140 pounds and a sixth-place showing by Nick Locsin at 134. Robles-Rials lost 8-2 to Gilroy’s Jesse Vasquez, the No. 3-ranked 108-pounder in the section, in the finals.

The Acorns also received multiple wins from Adam Mito (128 pounds) and Ramon Lucatero (154), plus victories by Josh Acosta (147), Derek Peralta (172), Morgan Smith (222) and Hunter Schroff (287).

Gilroy won the team title with 211 points, followed by St. Francis (176.5) and James Logan (164.5). The Mustangs took first in five weights.

Live Oak finished one spot behind the host Royals (116.5), a telling sign of how tight the Mount Hamilton Division title is. Overfelt bested the Acorns 52-25 last Tuesday, moving the teams into a tie for second at 3-1 behind undefeated Oak Grove, the Acorns’ next opponent.

Live Oak wrestles the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in San Jose.
