The Live Oak Acorns beat Gunn 5-3 on Monday and scored five runs in the eighth inning to defeat Branham 9-8 on Tuesday in nonleague softball.
Freshman catcher Tiffany Moore stepped up in both games, batting 3 for 3 with a double Monday and collecting a double and a single Tuesday for Live Oak (2-2).
Rachel Ditta contributed two hits against Gunn, and Katie Obbema struck out eight for the win.
Tuesday Jenny Obbema got the decision with three strikeouts and also doubled.
Boys tennis
Live Oak freshman Milan Le Ruyet closed out a three-set victory against Santa Teresa on Tuesday to move to 3-0 this season.
Top single Bryan Freitas won his match as well, improving to 2-1, for the Acorns, who lost 3-4 and are now 0-3.
Live Oak hosts Sobrato at 3:15 p.m. March 14.
The Bulldogs beat Overfelt 5-2 on Wednesday for their fourth victory in as many games.
Boys golf
Sobrato moved to 2-0 in the Santa Teresa Division with a 228-286 victory over Branham at Coyote Creek Golf Club on Wednesday.
Sobrato senior Jared White carded a 44 as medalist.
- Live Oak junior Matt Jarvis shot a 3-over-par 36 as medalist in a 210-221 Mount Hamilton Division loss to Leigh that same day at Eagle Ridge Golf Course.
