A handful of locals were voted to the All-Mount Hamilton Division list for girls soccer, with Sobrato goalkeeper Maggie Cropp receiving the league’s Senior of the Year award, and Live Oak forward Alissa Pham earning Sophomore of the Year.
Live Oak, which took third in league at 8-5-1 (15-6-3 overall), sent its three NCAA Division I soccer signees to the all-league list. Tiffany Geer (San Diego State) joined Pham on the first team, while Megan Rauschnot (San Jose State) and Sami Riolo (San Jose State) were named to the second team.
Those four were key in the Acorns’ run to the Central Coast Section Division II semifinals.
The 5-foot, 9-inch Geer was as potent as ever at attacking midfielder and sweeper, and also delivered six shutouts in net after switching to goalie midway through the regular season.
The speedy Riolo saved many goals as well with her veteran play on the backline. She got in on the attack as well.
Injuries took a slight toll on Rauschnot late in the season, but the Acorns’ emotional leader put up impressive numbers once again in her fourth year as a starting forward. She will graduate as one of Live Oak’s all-time leading goal-scorers.
Pham, with her speed and quickness, evolved into a viable counterpart to Rauschnot up top after a quiet freshman season.
Senior Emily Kyle and junior Sydney Barker, both defenders, were honorable mentions, also for Live Oak.
Sobrato (5-11-4, 3-9-2) was awarded one all-league nod for its seventh-place finish, but it went to a worthy recipient.
Cropp led the league with 165 saves, collected four shutouts and even tied for a team high with three goals.
She has signed with Division I Mercer.
Also from Morgan Hill, Valley Christian forward Colby Carson earned Junior of the Year in the West Catholic Athletic League with 18 goals and seven assists.
