Longtime Morgan Hill residents Colleene Issacs and Elaine Stoddard celebrated the grand opening of their restaurant July 26.
Ragoots, located at the base of the Skeels building on Monterey Road, features gourmet California cuisine. The restaurant provides a wine country atmosphere and has a wide variety of wines and dishes to enhance the feeling. Visitors can also purchase a variety of wines, cheeses and other items in Ragoots specialty shop.
“The city of Morgan Hill and South County Property Management have been instrumental in helping us reach our goal of providing a well-rounded dining selection to the residents of Morgan Hill,” said Issacs. “Both organizations understood our vision and wanted to help us achieve that goal by financially assisting in creating what we believe is one of the more beautiful facades in the downtown Morgan Hill area.”
During the grand opening, Mayor Dennis Kennedy and Garrett Toy, director of business assistance and housing services, presented Issacs and Stoddard with a check of $28,743. The check was part of a façade grant provided by the Morgan Hill Redevelopment Agency.
“Ragoots is a welcomed addition to downtown,” said Kennedy. “South County Housing and the Redevelopment Agency have been important in making this possible. Now downtown Morgan Hill is looking better everyday and tasting better, too.”
