Two dead in string of wrecks; bus passengers elude tragedy

San Jose Police arrested two suspects with outstanding warrants in Morgan Hill the afternoon of Sept. 13, according to authorities.
Shortly after 2 p.m., the SJPD Covert Response Unit conducted a vehicle stop on a car with three people inside on Calle Mazatan near East Main Avenue, according to San Jose Police Officer Gina Tepoorten.
Officers arrested two of the vehicle’s occupants who had outstanding warrants for their arrest. The arrested suspects are a 19-year-old male and a 19-year-old female, Tepoorten said.
The young man had a warrant for a probation violation, and the female’s warrant was for possession of narcotics and a stolen vehicle, according to Tepoorten.
One of the warrants was out of San Jose, and the other was from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, Tepoorten added.
As of Sept. 14, San Jose Police are withholding the names of those arrested because the investigation is “active and ongoing,” Tepoorten said.
Morgan Hill police assisted with the vehicle stop, according to MHPD Sgt. Carson Thomas.
