The Spirit of Morgan Hill 8U Red competitive travel team won all four tournaments it has entered this season.
The Spirit posted a record of 17-1-1, outscoring opponents 155–36.
Their first place wins included Tony Sanchez Invitational in Santa Clara, Butterfly Classic in Campbell, CSA Incline Village in Tahoe, and most recently they became the 8U NorCal Champions in Sunnyvale.
This past weekend they faced the best NorCal has to offer and went 3-0 outscoring their opponents 18-2 (7-0, 6-0, 5-2) en route to the title.
The team was led by pitcher Olivia Mixco, with catcher Cameron Elliott behind the plate.
The girls provided solid support on defense (Kayla Tulowitzki, Mariah Naranjo and Jordan Bouton), some timely hits (Jocelynn Mendoza, Mylie Parker, Ashlyn Ingraham and Gabby Evans) and they also tossed in a couple home runs for good measure (Samantha Zimmerman and Ava Chapman).
It was a complete team effort with contributions from all.
The Spirit will next be heading to the Regional Championships in San Diego July 14-16 and look to continue their winning ways.
