Carjacking
Two suspects wearing masks brandished handguns at two occupants of a 2010 gray Jeep Compass, assaulted them and stole the vehicle. The incident occurred outside the Hampton Inn, 16115 Condit Road. The victim who reported the incident said his friend was punched in the stomach and needed medical attention. Both occupants were threatened by the thieves. The suspects pulled up to the victims in a black Silverado pickup. The crime was reported 10:16 p.m. Jan. 8.
Stolen vehicle
A thief or thieves stole a silver 1997 Honda Accord that was parked on the 16700 block of Audrey Drive. The crime was reported 9:43 a.m. Jan. 9.
Disturbance
A witness reported that people were “partying” and doing burnouts in the downtown parking garage, located on West Fourth Street. The incident was reported 8:51 Jan. 4.
A customer at Jack In The Box, 15855 Monterey Road, was asking for pizza and refusing to leave while becoming aggressive and yelling at employees and other customers. The disturbance was reported 9:43 p.m. Jan. 4.
DUI
An impaired driver crashed into a parked car on Bender Circle. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The incident was reported 4:42 p.m. Jan. 5.
Vandalism
Someone kicked in the front door of a business on the 16900 block of Monterey Road. The vandalism resulted in damage to the padlock on the door. The vandal did not enter the business. The vandalism was reported 10:57 a.m. Jan. 10.
Fraud
A customer at Dickey’s BBQ, 1049 Cochrane Road, tried to pass a counterfeit $50 bill. The crime was reported 1:20 p.m. Jan. 6.
Hit and run
A white pickup truck hit a light pole on East Third Street and fled the scene. The incident was reported 3:23 p.m. Jan. 6.
High speed pursuit
Police from Morgan Hill and Gilroy, as well as county sheriff deputies, chased a white Honda Civic south down U.S. 101 after the driver failed to make a traffic stop. The pursuit began just south of Morgan Hill and continued until the fleeing vehicle crashed near the Betabel Road exit. The driver tried to run away on foot but was detained and transported to an area hospital. The chase exceeded 100 mph at times. Police confirmed the Honda was stolen. The chase started about 10 p.m. Jan. 6.
Auto burglary
Someone broke into a Toyota Camry parked at Maple Leaf RV Park on Monterey Road and stole a Bose speaker, camera bag and personal items. The crime was reported 1:15 p.m. Jan. 7. 
A thief or thieves broke into a Ford Fusion while the vehicle’s owner was inside In N Out restaurant, 895 Cochrane Road. Stolen from the vehicle was a computer bag. The crime was reported 6:46 p.m. Jan 8.
Battery
A group of about 10 people were involved in a fight outside the M&H Tavern, 17365 Monterey Road. A bouncer employed by the bar and a female patron got caught in the melee and were assaulted. The female victim told police she was hit in the head. The incident was reported 1 a.m. Jan. 8.
