Live Oak Acorns

Despite PJ Rochon’s three-hit day, Live Oak fell 5-2 to Lincoln in San Jose on Wednesday.
The Lions scored five runs on just two hits, scoring instead on an error, a bases-loaded walk, a stolen base, sacrifice fly and a wild pitch.
Joe Goble got the hard-luck loss, going four innings, giving up four runs on two hits and five walks with two strikeouts.
Offensively, Rochon had a double and two singles and helped set the stage for Live Oak’s first run of the day.
After Kyle Riveron reached on a one-out walk, Rochon hit a double to put him on third.
Riveron scored on a fielder’s choice from Dominic Rodriguez to cut the deficit down to 3-1.
In the next inning, Live Oak got to within one when Tyler Souza reached on a single, advanced on a balk and finally scored on an error on a ground ball hit by AJ Mendoza.
The Acorns threated again in the sixth inning when Riveron and Rochon led off with singles and advanced into scoring position on a sac bunt from Rodriguez.
But Live Oak couldn’t capitalize.
Meanwhile, Lincoln went up 4-2 after a hit batter led to a run on a pair of stolen bases, including a steal of home.
The Lions got an insurance run in the sixth when a two-out wild pitch scored the fifth run.
Live Oak will next host Lincoln 4 p.m. Friday.

Sobrato falls to Santa Teresa

Santa Teresa scored five times in the sixth inning as the Bulldogs fell 10-4 Tuesday.
The Saints went up by four runs thanks to a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth innings before Sobrato finally got on the board.
But after cutting the deficit in half, the Bulldogs went down by seven when Santa Teresa rallied for five runs.
Sobrato scored in the bottom of the sixth and seventh, but it wasn’t enough as the Saints also scored one more run in the seventh inning for the final margin.
Leading the way was John Bell, who went 1-2 with a run scored. Jon Newman also reached twice by walks.
Newman took the loss, giving up nine runs, eight of which were unearned, through six innings on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts.
The Bulldogs will next travel to San Jose Thursday for a 4 p.m. game.
