Merideth Green and Shelby Neuder meet some barnyard animals at the April 23 Friends and Family Festival at P.A. Walsh Steam Academy.

Swarms of residents stopped by P.A. Walsh Steam Academy to enjoy a free, fun-filled day of activities and events amongst all the local school communities April 23, as the Morgan Hill Federation of Teachers hosted its inaugural Friends and Family Festival.
The celebration of all Morgan Hill Unified School District’s neighborhood schools included family-friendly activities such as wheel-barrel and three-legged races. The school campus also had farm animals such as chickens and goats in attendance as well as informational tables from community organizations. Raffle prizes were also given to students.
Additionally, school bands as well as local dance teams and karate groups gave performances throughout the four-hour event, which was meant to gather families, friends, educators and community organizations that support public education and students for a day to celebrate their schools.
