Live Oak rallied for four runs in the seventh inning, but ultimately came up short to Westmont, falling 6-4 on Wednesday.
The Acorns had the tying run come to the plate, but were unable to keep the rally going.
Westmont likewise capitalized on a big inning to initially take the lead that allowed the Warriors to hang on.
Westmont scored four times in the fifth thanks to a pair of Acorn errors that kept the inning going.
Then in the fifth, three more errors put Westmont up 6-0 when a lead off free 90 feet turned into a run first by three stolen bases.

Live Oak was thrown out on the base paths twice by a pick off and caught stealing.
But still the Acorns threatened in the third inning when Alejandro Mendoza reached on a fielder’s choice and Gavin Vallez walked. They both landed in scoring position when Jacob Ryder laid down a sacrifice bunt, but Westmont got out of the inning with a flyout to center.
Then with their backs against the wall, Live Oak sent 10 hitters to the plate in the seventh inning, starting with a lead off single from Kyle Riveron.
Michael followed with a single and Chris Knopf loaded the bases when he was hit by a pitch.
PJ Rochon walked with the bases loaded to start the scoring.
Ibara followed by scoring on a ground out by Damon Rodriguez and Knopf scored on a single from Mendoza.
Rochon made it 6-4 when he scored on a single from Vallez with two outs.
