Christina Turner

The City of Morgan Hill announced Jan. 27 that Christina Turner was hired on as the new Assistant City Manager for Administrative Services.
“We are excited to have Christina join our team,” said City Manager Steve Rymer of Turner. “I am confident that she will play a key role in maintaining Morgan Hill’s high quality of life while continuing to be fiscally responsible.”
Turner, of Gilroy, will be directly responsible for leading Morgan Hill’s administrative services team, which includes finance, human resources, information services, council services and utility billing divisions.
“I look forward to furthering the city council’s goals and fulfilling the community’s vision for Morgan Hill,” Turner said.
Turner will be immediately involved in transitioning Morgan Hill to a two-year budget cycle, providing strategic leadership for information services and assessing existing policies and processes to enhance customer satisfaction and organizational efficiency in the most cost-effective manner.
Turner previously served as the City of Gilroy’s Finance Director and Treasurer. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from Santa Clara University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Turner also serves as the First Vice President for the Fiscal Officers Department of the League of California Cities and is a member of the League’s Revenue and Taxation Committee.
Turner, who will begin her new position March 7, will make an annual salary of $188,700.
The city’s previous Assistant City Manager for for Administrative Services, Cindy Murphy, recently decided to resign. However, she will stay at City Hall full-time through the end of March, and continue part-time through June to ensure a smooth transition, according to city staff.
