Live Oak Acorns

The Live Oak girls basketball team has concluded its first round of Santa Teresa Division play with the same dominance as it started.
The Acorns dispatched the only other undefeated team with a 52-25 rout, holding a team to fewer to 30 points for the seventh time in 17 games.
Live Oak’s first half of league play, the Acorns outscored opponents 369-217, all the while scoring north of 50 in six of their seven games.
This time, Leigh, who came into the game 6-0 in Santa Teresa play and 11-2 overall, was held to two points in the fourth quarter and 13 points for the first half of the game.
The Longhorns had a good third quarter, putting up 10 points out of the half, but it was little help.
Leigh scored fewer points in the other three quarters (15) than Live Oak did in the fourth quarter alone (16).
Amy Gunther led the way with 19 points and Grace Smith had 11.
Live Oak will start the second half of league play Friday, hosting Santa Teresa 7 p.m.

Boys Soccer

Christian Guary scored a second-half goal as the Live Oak boys soccer team defeated Sobrato, 1-0.
Guary scored in the 79th minute to improve the Acorns to 5-1-1 in West Valley Division play.
Live Oak next will next host San Jose 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Sobrato, meanwhile, falls to 1-4-2 in league play. The Bulldogs will next travel to Gunderson for a 5:30 p.m. game Friday.
