Student of the Week: Austin Flower

What inspires you?
I’m inspired by political leaders of the past such as Martin Luther King Jr., and President John F. Kennedy because they have overcome political and social struggles that were considered too big for them. My family and friends also inspire me to be who I am today.
What is your favorite subject in school, and why?
My favorite subject is World History because I enjoy learning about the events that shaped this world into what it is today.
If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what would it be?
I would end poverty because I believe it is one of the biggest diseases that plagues the modern world. It affects a lot of people including children from all around the world.
If you could go anywhere, where would you go?
I would travel to Europe to visit and learn more about its history. I am very fascinated with French and British history.
Name one big challenge in your life right now:
One challenge in my life right now is getting through high school and into college.
What is your dream job?
To become a voice actor for an animation studio.
What are your three favorite things?
1. Cajun food –  I would love to learn to cook    
2.  Rap music – from artists such as Wu-Tang Clan, Biggie Smalls, and Big Pun  
3.  Movies – favorite director: Quentin Tarantino
Favorite book:
My favorite book is “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee
What do you want to do after high school?
After high school I would like to attend Community College and continue being a student.
Something that makes you smile:
Seeing my little brother, and watching stand-up comedy by George Carlin.
