Burglary
Someone broke into a classroom at El Toro Elementary School at 455 East Main Ave. The classroom’s teacher reported the break-in about 9:43 a.m. Monday, and police suspect the burglary occurred sometime over the weekend. The teacher said the room had been ransacked, but nothing appeared to be missing. The alarm didn’t go off because it was blocked by a collage hanging in front of the alarm sensor.
Petty theft
A truck driver staying at Quality Inn, 16525 Condit Rd., reported that about 80 gallons, or more than $200 worth of diesel fuel had been stolen from his big rig’s gas tank. The driver told police he parked the truck at the hotel’s parking lot about 5:45 p.m. Monday, and he reported the crime about 4 a.m. Tuesday.
