HOLLISTER — Live Oak junior Paige Flores highlighted a promising start for the Lady Acorns’ golf team.

Flores shot a 49 through nine holes Tuesday at Ridgemark Golf and County Club, as Live Oak opened its season with a fifth-place finish in the Tri County Athletic League Jamboree.

The tournament featured all 10 TCAL teams. Live Oak’s top players combined for a team score of 217, eight strokes ahead of Notre Dame and 16 strokes behind fourth-place San Benito. Catalina edged Robert Louis Stevenson and Salinas by three strokes at 181 to win the team title.

Live Oak’s first league dual match is Tuesday at Watsonville.
