It is great that Morgan Hill is educating residents on water
rationing, but is anyone doing anything about the water waste in
the business parks (AKA local swamps)?
“It is great that Morgan Hill is educating residents on water rationing, but is anyone doing anything about the water waste in the business parks (AKA local swamps)? Drive or walk through any of them in Morgan Hill and you see water gushing from broken sprinkler heads, sprinklers running in the middle of the day and water running down the street from over-watering. Try walking the fitness path in the business park behind Wal-Mart without your rubber rain boots some day – it is a constant muddy mess.”

Red Phone: Dear Who’s Watching the Water Wasters, Red Phone contacted Anthony Eulo, program administrator for the city. He said the city is interested in obtaining specific information about incidents of water waste and has set up a water waste hotline at 778-6480 to handle these calls.

“When we receive a specific report, we contact the responsible party in order to gain compliance with the city’s laws and restrictions,” Eulo said. “It is essential that we receive specific information detailing the location of the water waste in order to provide us with enough information to respond.”

There you have it, good caller. Anyone who spots broken sprinklers, or other incidents of water waste, can call the number above so the city can contact the responsible party.

How do we stop harassing calls?

“I’m not sure if anyone else in South County has received calls from ‘Unavailable’ (408) 154-7788 regarding carpet and upholstery cleaning. Of course that number isn’t valid. I consider these recorded messages harassment and extremely annoying. We are on the ‘Do Not Call’ list and have never done business with this company. They have been calling up to three times a week for the last two to three weeks. Usually my machine picks up, and their taped message is recorded. I was home once to receive the call, and they do not give you a company name or phone number to call. All they say is if you are interested in their services to press ‘1’ or if you would like to be removed from their list to press ‘3.’ Since I answered the phone that time, I pressed ‘3’ only to get a message saying that this selection is unknown. Help! I have no idea how to stop this. Am I the only one!?”

Red Phone: Dear Am I The Only One, Red Phone can assure you that you’re not the only one. Even Red Phone has received these calls, and did the same thing you did, but to no avail. They continue to come. So, Red Phone has an idea. Anyone getting calls from this company should go to www.donotcall.gov and click on File a Complaint. Not sure how effective that’ll be, but if they get dozens, or even hundreds of complaints, Red Phone hopes somebody somewhere takes action.
