SAN JOSE — Scoring all of its runs in a brilliant seventh inning, the Live Oak baseball team rallied past the Pioneer Mustangs again Thursday, winning 8-4 in San Jose.

It was the third consecutive win for the Acorns, who also came from behind to beat Pioneer 6-5 Tuesday. Live Oak clinched the tie-breaker in their three-game season series and moved to 8-4 overall and 3-3 in Mount Hamilton Division play.

Almost every player in the Acorns’ roster scored. The team received RBI base hits from Michael Schreiber, Connor Sutton, Cody Casino, Ryan Muir, Dylan Davis and Tony Austin, who doubled in a 2-for-3 day at the plate.

Live Oak outhit the Mustangs 11-10.

Sutton came through in relief again versus Pioneer, pitching the final three innings to get the win. Sutton (4-0), who also earned the decision Tuesday, struck out one and surrendered three runs on five hits.

The Mustangs (6-4 overall, 3-3 league) scored one run in the third inning and three in the fifth. They got two RBIs from Justin Souza and a pair of doubles from Kevin Burchfiel, who went 3 for 4.

The Acorns will play the first of two straight games against Westmont at home Tuesday. They will meet again Thursday in Campbell.
