Dear Editor, I have truly enjoyed the past 10 years as the city
of Morgan Hill’s Adopt-a-Planter Coordinator. I am happy to report
that the beauty of our downtown planters will continue as Irene
Mort and her

Les Fleures

Garden Club take over. A month ago, we had a wonderful farewell
party at which Mayor Steve Tate gave us a certificate of
appreciation and the city of Morgan Hill presented me with my very
own crepe myrtle tree located at East Fourth Street and Monterey
Road. I just want to thank our benefactor Dave Vincent, owner of
Cal Color Growers; Karen Lengsfield, who worked closely with our
adopters during the early years; and Ann Beale, our current
coordinator, who did a fantastic job putting the party together. It
was great having about 40 adopters present, some of whom have
worked with me from the start. Juan Pacheco, senior parks worker,
was recognized as we worked together closely for 10 years.
“Flower Lady’ just wants to say thanks to all who helped

Dear Editor,

I have truly enjoyed the past 10 years as the city of Morgan Hill’s Adopt-a-Planter Coordinator. I am happy to report that the beauty of our downtown planters will continue as Irene Mort and her “Les Fleures” Garden Club take over. A month ago, we had a wonderful farewell party at which Mayor Steve Tate gave us a certificate of appreciation and the city of Morgan Hill presented me with my very own crepe myrtle tree located at East Fourth Street and Monterey Road.

I just want to thank our benefactor Dave Vincent, owner of Cal Color Growers; Karen Lengsfield, who worked closely with our adopters during the early years; and Ann Beale, our current coordinator, who did a fantastic job putting the party together. It was great having about 40 adopters present, some of whom have worked with me from the start. Juan Pacheco, senior parks worker, was recognized as we worked together closely for 10 years.

I want all of you to know what a privilege it has been to have been your downtown “Flower Lady.”

Burt’s done it again

Dear Editor,

Well, Burt’s done it again. This time it’s his grandson, instead of Obama. He just can’t leave it alone. He’s still trying to prove he’s not a racist. It appears that he has never noticed we live in a multi-cultural society until he visited his grandson’s first grade class.

Where has he been? And how did he raise six children without having realized their classes were also made up of different skin tones, and hair colors? He seems to have skipped over an entire generation, and reverted back to the prejudiced days of his youth.

Makes me wonder if he would be just as proud of an African American mother as he is of the boy’s Filipino mother?

Expel every student involved in gangs so the rest get an education

Dear Editor,

I don’t have video or photos, but I do have something to say about the fight. They should expel every student that is involved in gangs and let the rest of the students finish high school. The school has gained a bad reputation and I think they should make the students wear uniforms.

I am a mother of two Gilroy High School students and it upsets me to hear about everything that is going on at school such as a female teacher choking one of her female students, a male teacher taking off his shirt in class and the male teacher who had sex with a minor and now a food fight.

What’s next, a fight with knifes and forks and then a fight with guns?
