Gabe Katich pitched eight strong innings, Alika Bantilan drove in two runs, and Gavilan College’s baseball team held on for a 6-3 home win over Skyline on Thursday.

Katich allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits and one walk with three strikeouts. The freshman right-hander improved to 6-2 as the Rams won their third straight to improve to 16-12 overall and first place at 9-7 in the Coast Conference Pacific Division.

Adam Kocina and Connor Sutton had two hits and scored two runs each, and Kenny Hall went 2-for-4 for the Rams.

Gavilan’s Erik Barron struck out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning to earn his first save of the season.
