A check of 44 registered sex offenders was conducted on Wednesday in the City of Santa Clara to make sure they were in compliance with California sex offender registration laws, according to Deputy Kurtis Stenderup of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.
Members of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office SAFE (Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement) Task Force, Santa Clara Police Department, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations, San Jose Parole Unit and the Santa Clara County Probation Department were all involved in the sweep, Deputy Stenderup said.
Out of the 44 people checked in the 10-hour operation, one was arrested.
