Maureen Tobin

Maureen Tobin, who has worked more than six years in the City of Morgan Hill’s Community Services Department, was named Tuesday as the City’s new Communications and Engagement Manager, according to City Manager Steve Rymer. 

In her new role, Tobin will be responsible for overseeing the City’s community engagement, public information and internal communications efforts, Rymer said in a press release. 

“After a highly competitive recruitment process, we are pleased to have Maureen serving as the City’s first Communications and Engagement Manager,” Rymer said. “We are looking forward to her working with the entire organization to advance the City Council’s communication and engagement priorities by enhancing transparency and access to public information.” 

Tobin is currently the City’s Community Services Manager. Her work in the community services department over the last six years have focused primarily on marketing and communications for the City’s recreation facilities, programs and services, according to the press release. She will start her new job as Communications and Engagement Manager in January 2014. 

The City Council created the new Communications and Engagement Manager in the 2013-2014 fiscal year budget, as part of the Council’s annual goal to improve community engagement. 

“I am honored to serve the organization and the Morgan Hill community in this new role,” Tobin said. “I look forward to the opportunity to work internally and with the community to improve and enhance communications and information sharing.”

The listed salary range for the new job, according to the City’s website, is between $7,807 and $10,017 monthly.
