Live Oak’s No. 1 single Bryan Freitas returns the ball to Willow Glen during their match Wednesday.

Live Oak High’s boys tennis team won its sixth straight match to open the season Wednesday with a 5-2 victory over Independence.

The Acorns got wins from Ryan Rupp and Justin Hallinan (6-3, 6-1) at doubles, and Bryan Freitas, Milan LeRuyet and Andrew Liu in singles play.

Live Oak will play in the Blossom Valley Athletic League Santa Teresa Division Tournament on April 9 and 10.
