ENGAGEMENTS: Walton/Travis: Andrea “Andee” Walton and Kellan Travis are engaged to be married.
Andrea, daughter of Karol Burke, of Hollister, and Andrew Walton, of Morgan Hill, is a 2004 graduate of San Benito High School and a 2008 graduate of Virginia Military Institute, in Lexington, Va. She has a bachelor’s degree in French, and associate’s degrees in both international studies and business. She served as a captain in the United States Marine Corp. She is currently a wine consultant and sales person with Quigley Fine Wines.
Kellan, son of Ruth Graninger and Richard Travis, of Midlothian, Va., is a 2004 graduate of Midlothian High School, in Virginia and a 2006 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, in Lexington, Va., with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is a captain in the United States Army and an aviator (Black Hawk pilot.)
The couple is planning a June 8 wedding in Mission Bay San Diego and will reside in Fayetteville, N.C.
Walton/Hendricks
Melissa Nicole Walton and Trevor Eric Hendricks are engaged to be married.
Melissa, daughter of Karol Burke, of Hollister, and Andrew Walton, of Morgan Hill, is a 2006 graduate of San Benito High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, with a major in English writing and political studies, with a minor in religious studies. She is now a JD candidate at Lewis and Clark Law School, in Portland, Ore. She works with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Northwest Division, Office of Counsel.
Trevor, son of Eric and Joan Hendricks, of Billings, Mont., is a 2007 graduate of Skyview High School, in Billings, Mont. and a 2011 graduate of Montana State University, Billings, in electrical engineering with a minor in computer engineering. He works in digital ASCI design for Hewlett-Packard, in Vancouver, Wash.
The couple has set a wedding date of Sept. 15 in Hillsboro, Ore. and will reside in Vancouver, Wash.
HONORS
Nicholas Jordan Angelo
Pvt. Nicholas Jordan Angelo graduated Feb. 1 from Army basic training in Ft. Benning, Ga. I-50 Echo Company Infantry is stationed in Alaska, Ft. Fairbanks. Angelo graduated from San Benito High School in 2011.
Carlvin Mudoh
Army Pfc. Carlvin N. Mudoh has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
Mudoh is the nephew of Lucas Mudoh of Gilroy.
Okensama La-Anyane
Okensama La-Anyane, of Morgan Hill, was named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2012 semester at Loyola Marymount University. Students named to the Dean’s List have completed 15 semester hours at LMU and earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better.

Margaret Persing
Margaret Persing, a sophomore studying nursing from Morgan Hill, was named to the 2012 fall semester Dean’s List at the University of Portland. Students need at least a 3.5 grade point average to be eligible for the Dean’s List.
The University of Portland is Oregon’s Catholic university and has been closely affiliated for nearly a century with the Congregation of Holy Cross, Notre Dame, Ind.
Stephanie Wan
Stephanie Wan, of Morgan Hill, was named to the Tufts University Dean’s List for the Fall 2012 semester. Dean’s List honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.
Tufts University, located on three Massachusetts campuses in Boston, Medford/Somerville and Grafton, and in Talloires, France, is recognized among the premier research universities in the United States.
