Gilroy High’s boys basketball team will visit Christopher in a California Interscholastic Federation Central Coast Section Division III first-round playoff game at 7 p.m. Tuesday, the CCS announced Sunday.

Both teams enter the postseason at 10-14 overall, with Monterey Bay League Gabilan Division member Christopher seeded 10th in the bracket and MBL Pacific member Gilroy unseeded. The winner of Tuesday’s game will play at seventh-seeded Monterey (11-13) in the second round at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Also in Division III, Sobrato (10-14) visits No. 11 seed Terra Nova (13-12) in the first round at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

In Division V, 11th-seeded Oakwood (19-5) visits No. 6 seed Thomas More (18-5) at 7 p.m. Thursday.

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Christopher (15-6) received a first-round bye, and the sixth-seeded Cougars will host either North Monterey County (6-17) or No. 11 seed San Jose (19-6) in the second round at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Also in Division III, Live Oak (16-8) will visit 12th-seeded Soledad (15-8) in the first round at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

In Division V, Oakwood (6-6) will play eighth-seeded Summit Prep (16-5) in the first round at Sequoia at 7 p.m. Thursday.

 

BOYS SOCCER

Gilroy (9-9-2) received a No. 9 seed in Division III and will visit No. 8 seed Saratoga (7-7-5) in the first round at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

 

GIRLS SOCCER

Gilroy (11-3-5) received a first-round bye and will play either Burlingame (11-6-3) or Saratoga (9-6-3) in a Division II quarterfinal on Saturday.

Also in Division II, 13th-seeded Christopher (10-6-3) visits No. 4 seed Del Mar (16-0-4) at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

In Division III, Live Oak (9-8-2) received a No. 9 seed and will visit eighth-seeded Sacred Heart Prep (9-4-6) in a first-round match at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
