Morgan Hill – A Morgan Hill resident with approximately $100,000 in outstanding warrants was arrested Wednesday night after officers forced his door open to serve the warrants.

Travis Duffy, 39, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for the outstanding warrants, as well as other charges, according to Morgan Hill police Cmdr. David Swing.

He was also arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violation.

Two of the four outstanding warrants were from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, while two were Morgan Hill police warrants, one for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia, and the other for driving on a suspended license.

Five officers went to Duffy’s residence on Llagas Road at approximately 9:30pm, and they noticed there was a video surveillance system covering the outside of the home. When they knocked on the door and announced their presence, Duffy did not answer the door, Swing said, although officers heard movement inside the residence.

Officers then forced the door open and found Duffy sitting on a chair in his bedroom. He was taken into custody without incident.

Last Friday, Swing added, officers arrested another man whose charges stem from incidents that allegedly occurred in Morgan Hill more than six years ago.

Ricardo R. Jimenez, 33, of Gilroy, was booked into county jail after Morgan Hill police officers picked him up in Gilroy. Morgan Hill police detectives conducted the investigation into the incident, and the District Attorney’s Office charged him with four counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, Swing said.
