Dear Editor,

The Live Oak High Counseling Department will be offering a registration workshop for 11th grade students and parents on Feb. 8, 7pm in the Little Theater. 11th grade students will be registering for their senior year Feb. 10-17. The class of 2006 is the last pure graduating class at Live Oak, all other senior classes will be divided between LO and Sobrato.

Counselors are asking parents and students to attend this workshop to become fully aware of all graduation and college requirements. Registration is an important process at the high school level because the master schedule is driven by student enrollment.

All parents and students are advised to seriously look at class selection for the following year. Be aware that teachers, materials, facilities and resources are allocated by the classes students choose. High school requirements must be evaluated to ensure a successful graduation college entrance.

Requirements must be evaluated to ensure appropriate class work for college application purposes. Senior deadlines must be addressed to provide students adequate time to prepare for college/scholarship/testing applications and completion.
