Morgan Hill – The Live Oak boys and girls swim teams dominated the competition Friday, sweeping to wins over Independence in Blossom Valley Athletic League action.
The Acorn boys won 123-57 and the girls swam past the 76ers 122-54.
Cameron Peachey and Sam Cretcher had big meets for Live Oak, as each won two individual events and swam on the winning 200 medley relay (1:55.27) and 400 freestyle relay (3:45.85) teams.
Peachey won the 100 freestyle in 54.68 and the 100 backstroke in 1:01.66. Cretcher captured the 200 individual medley in 2:18.43 and 100 butterfly in 1:30.18.
Other boys winners were Eric McCombs, 5:46.96 in the 500 freestyle; Kyle Fast, 1:11.81 in the 100 breaststroke; Patrick Acevedo, 25.13 in 50 freestyle; and Brandon Seiminatore, 152.00 points in 1-meter diving.
Laura Shope had a big meet for the Acorn girls, taking first in the 200 freestyle in 2:03.52 and in the 50 freestyle in 25.98, and swimming legs on the winning 200 medley relay (2:00.92) and 200 freestyle relay (1:49.54) teams.
Jessica Poon also won two individual events, taking the 200 individual medley in 2:22.44 and 50 freestyle in 5:53.25. Meanwhile, Kate Rick won the 100 freestyle in 59.56 and was a member of both winning relay teams; Alisa Pinarbasi won the 100 butterfly in 1:05.48; Sarah D’Angelo won the 100 backstroke in 1:07.64; Michelle Blenn won the 100 breaststroke in 1:20.54; and Giulia Seminatore won the 1-meter diving with 119.60 points.
The Acorns resume BVAL action at 3pm Wednesday when they visit Pioneer.
