Sobrato Dominates its Way to Sweep of Andrew Hill

The Bulldog boys prevailed 114-62, and the Sobrato girls were victorious 121-55. The JV girls got into the winning act as well with a 91-71 decision.

On the boys side, Ammon Suzuki, Sky Sandberg, Derek Bowman and Danny Thompson were all double winners who also swam a leg on the victorious 200 medley relay team. Suzuki, Sandberg and Thompson also swam legs on the winning 200 freestyle relay team.

Individually, Suzuki won the 200 freestyle in 2:04 and 100 butterfly in 1:02.81. Bowman won the 200 individual medley in 2:29.23 and 100 breaststroke in 1:12.61.

Sandberg won the 50 freestyle in 23.19 and 100 freestyle in 51.45. Thompson won the 500 freestyle in 5:27.97 and 100 backstroke in 1:06.21.

On the girls side, Amelia Greenland was a double winner in the 100 backstroke in 1:12.54 and 100 breaststroke in 1:21.05. The senior also swam legs on the winning 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay teams.

Other individual winners for Sobrato were Taylor Windgassen, 2:24.60 in the 200 individual medley; Anna Reichartz, 27.89 in the 50 freestyle; Emily Hunter, 1:10.50 in the 100 freestyle; and Katelyn Smith, 5:31.34 in the 500 freestyle. Smith, Windgassen and Reichartz also swam legs on the winning relay teams.

Live Oak swimming

Morgan Hill – Mike Wu won two individual events and swam a leg on two winning relay teams Friday to lead the Live Oak boys to a 108-67 Blossom Valley Athletic League win over visiting Westmont.

The Acorn girls found themselves in a thriller but emerged with an 89-80 win over the Warriors. The Live Oak and Westmont junior varsities swam to a 62-62 tie.

Wu won the 200 individual medley in 2:08.41 and 500 freestyle in 4:53.73. The Acorn junior also swam legs on the winning 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay teams.

Other Live Oak boys who won were Steven Rick, 1:52.44 in the 200 freestyle, and Brandon Seminatore, 159.00 points in diving.

Acorn girls who were victorious were Giulia Seminatore, 119.50 in diving; Jessica Poon, 1:06.33 in 100 butterfly; Sarah D’Angelo, 1:08.13 in 100 backstroke. D’Angelo was also on the winning 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay teams.
