Morgan Hill – Marqus Crawford came up with three wins Thursday and Sobrato fed off the senior speedster in notching a 74-62 win over Live Oak.
On the girls side, the Acorns had four double winners and used superior balance to beat the Bulldogs 87-45.
Crawford won the 100 in 11.8, 200 in 23.8, and high jump in 5-8 to accumulate 15 points by himself. Sophomore distance runner Lance Wolfsmith was an easy winner in the 1,600 in 4:29.8 and ran unopposed in the 3,200 and still posted a 10:15.
Other Sobrato winners were Erik Woodruff, 54.2 in the 400; Alan Rios, 2:14 in the 800; Will Cambra, 11-6 in the pole vault; Alex Meldrum, 43.6 in the 300 hurdles, and the 4 x 100 relay team.
Live Oak had a couple of double winners in weight man Matt Acosta and jumper Mark Cedeno. Acosta won the shot put with a heave of 36-11 and the discuss with a throw of 112-11. Cedeno long jumped 17-05 and triple jumped 37-09.25 to win those events.
Other Acorns who won were Nic Muhn, 17.7 in the 110 hurdles and the 4 x 400 relay team.
On the girls side, Live Oak’s Katie Armstrong won the 100 hurdles in 19.4 and the 300 hurdles in 54.6. Pauline Olsen won the 400 in 1:01.1 and the 800 in 2:38. Courtney Robinson won the 100 in 13.7 and the 200 in 28.3. Denae Chappell won the shot put in 27-05 and discus in 92-06.
Also winning for the Acorns were Olivia Duran, 12:57.7 in the 3,200; Kate Lowe, 4-10 in the high jump; Kaleigh Mallette, 6-0 in the pole vault; and the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relay teams.
Sobrato also had a double winner in Ariel Mosbrucker, who won the long jump in 16-02 and the triple jump in 31-09. Abbi Devaraj won the 1,600 in 5:39.3.
Both track teams are in action on the road at 3:30pm Thursday. The Acorns are at Westmont and the Bulldogs are at Willow Glen.
Kearney Invitational: Wolfsmith won the 1,600 race and the Live Oak frosh/soph girls were second (90 points) to Aptos (96).
