Athletics 14, White Sox 6

The A’s scored two first-inning runs and went on to defeat the White Sox.

Nelson Pyle singled and scored on Andrew Bueno’s triple. Bueno scored on a passed ball for the A’s first-inning runs.

The White Sox took the lead with three runs in the first with Chase Chadband hitting an RBI single, a passed ball chasing in the second run and an RBI single by Billy Branon.

Pyle’s single chased home two second-inning runs. The A’s added three more runs in the third on a leadoff double by Matt Jarvis, two walks and singles by Mike Jarvis, Lorenzo Aguayo and Dylan Kral. They broke it open with six in the fourth on three walks, doubles by Miguel Gonzalez, Pyle and Casey Dawes, and a Zack McKerrow single.

Athletics 17, Marlins 2

The Athletics scored two runs in the first on a double by Andrew Bueno and singles from Lorenzo Aguayo and Miguel Gonzalez.

The A’s added five more runs in the bottom of the second on two walks, a two-run triple by Miguel Carlos, a double from Nelson Pyle and two throwing errors.

In the third, the A’s got a run on a triple by Dylan Kral, who scored on throwing error.

The Athletics broke it open in the fifth inning with two walks, a single and a double by Gonzalez, singles by Matt Cummings, Zack McKerrow, Mike Jarvis, Casey Dawes and Westyn Herscovitch.

The Marlins scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings. In the fourth, Conor Havstad had a leadoff single, stole second and third base, and scored on a passed ball. In the fifth, Jake Peachy walked, and Swanson and Havstad had singles.

Yankees 13, Indians 5

The Yankees used a 14-hit attack and were able to survive four hits and 12 walks by the Indians to gain the win.

John Forestieri’s two-run double staked the Indians to an early lead, but the Yankees plated seven runs on six hits in the fourth inning. Bradley Morris, Christian Davies-White, Jesse Lares, Taylor Pullen and Auston Rutledge all singled, and Jason Struzik doubled in two runs. Tyler Pederson also had an RBI hit in the inning.

Forestieri double to drive in another run and scored on an error, but the Yankees again bounced back as Pederson added another RBI in the fifth, Davies-White also doubled in a run, and winning pitcher Nathaniel Batad, Morris, Lares and Pederson all scored twice. Lares was 3 for 3 and Batad struck out five in three innings or work.

Pony Division

Giants 8, Tigers 3

The Giants started out strong with three runs in the first inning. Tim Giles and Joe Snyder had singles, and Brodie Christman followed up with a two-RBI double.

Later in the game, the Giants added to their score with base hits by Jesse Torralba and Joe Snyder. Kyle Luscher had a double and Tim Giles and Kolby Nelson had triples for the Giants.

Brodie Christman pitched five innings for the Giants and gave up one run, and Joe Snyder came in to close out the game.

The Tigers scored in the fourth inning with an RBI single from Seth Gregory. Nick Pusateri had a base hit, and Seth Gregory and Richie Martinez each had a double for the Tigers.
