Brittney Ondich continued her torrid hitting by going 3 for 3 with an RBI and stolen base. Dahajaira Lopez went 2 for 2.
The Acorns (20-4 overall) scored twice in the second inning. Ondich singled and was sacrificed to second by Kourtney Kientzy. Lopez singled. Ondich scored on wild pitch. Jenna Robertson walked, then stole second. Lopez scored on wild pitch.
Kelly McDonald started the fourth inning with a walk. Ondich singled. Kientzy hit a long drive to centerfield for a triple.
The centerfielder misplayed the ball and Kientzy scored. Lopez singled and was sacrificed by Robertson. Robin Nelson was safe on an error and Lopez scored.
Sarah Locarnini had a smash over the fence that was ruled a double because of the close fence on a short field. Her hit scored Nelson. Taylor Sutton had another hit over the fence that was ruled a double that scored Locarnini.
McDonald singled to score Sutton. Ondich singled for her third hit to score McDonald. The game ended with the 10-run rule with 2 outs in the inning.
The Acorns had nine hits and committed no errors.
Live Oak returns to Blossom Valley Athletic league action today with a 3:30pm game at Evergreen Valley.
The Acorns have won four in a row since losing to Leigh and Watsonville.
The Cougars are 9-10-2 overall, 5-5 in league. One of those losses was a 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Acorns on March 29.
