San Jose – Behind the offensive performances of seniors Brian Costello and Conner Williamson and the netminding of junior Ryan Listol, Live Oak earned a 9-6 win over Leigh on May 4.
Costello scored a game-high five goals and Williamson’s strong play resulted in an assist in the victory. Freshman Daniel Daly also stepped up, pouring in two goals. Paul Anderson, a junior, added a goal and junior Kyle Rosenzweig also scored.
The win was a bounce-back effort for the Acorns, who had dropped a 9-8 decision to Lincoln and a 10-7 decision to Wilcox in their prior two efforts.
In the game against Wilcox, senior Kyle Dutra led the way with four goals and an assist. Williamson added a goal and an assist and Michael Widergren and Rosenzweig each had a goal. Scott Alexander had two assists.
Against Lincoln, Costello had four goals and two assists, Dutra added two goals and three assists, Williamson and Rosenzweig each scored a goal and Williamson added two assists.
Live Oak will face off against Santa Clara tonight at 9pm at Rollin’ Ice in the Silver Creek Sports Complex.
