PG&E is urging Californians statewide to conserve energy, citing higher demand linked to the hot weather and the loss of certain transmission and generation resources in Southern California.
Conservation plays a key role in helping the California ISO balance the demand for energy with the available supply. In Northern and Central California, although PG&E expects electric supplies to be sufficient to meet the needs of its customers and provide adequate reserves, PG&E urges its customers to set air conditioning thermostat at 78 degrees and higher or use fans. Customers can take their conservation a steps further by drawing the drapes and using big appliances early in the day or later at night.
