In January, there were 458 busy Girl Scouts in Morgan Hill and San Martin taking cookie orders from family, friends and neighbors. They have pre-sold 35, 796 boxes of cookies, which is approximately 3,000 cases. Thanks to Guglielmo Winery and staff, the Girl Scouts of Service Unit 40 had a place for all those cookies to be delivered, sorted and picked up by girls in 44 troops.
For those of you who didn’t have a Girl Scout knocking on your door, don’t worry – you can still get Girl Scout cookies. The Girl Scout cookie booth sales take place Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Feb. 26 through March 20. Look for them at various locations including Bank of America, Blockbuster, Nob Hill, Safeway, Starbucks and Rite-Aid. Service Unit 40 Girl Scouts would like to thank all of the merchants supporting the cookie booth sales.
At the booth sales, residents also may purchase cookies for donation to the Second Harvest Food Bank in San Jose or to the local Red Cross that will ship the cookies to military troops overseas.
