MORGAN HILL

The Britton Middle School A softball team won its eighth championship in 12 years by defeating Bernal Intermediate 11-2 in the East Hills Middle School finals on Oct. 18 at Piedmont Middle School.

The Lady Bobcats avenged an earlier loss to Bernal, and finished the season with a 10-1 record.

Britton’s overall record in softball over the last 12 years is 119-10.

This year’s success and Britton’s gaudy lifetime record can be traced directly to the fine job Morgan Hill Spirit, Morgan Hill Pride and other travelling teams do in developing the skills of so many players.

“The unique thing about Britton softball is that the advanced players have so much school spirit that they always turn out and play for their school,” Britton athletic director and coach Jim Green said.
