San Martin – The sentencing of a Gilroy man convicted of five felony counts and one misdemeanor count was postponed Monday for medical reasons.

The defense attorney for Anthony Aguilera, 22, was unable to appear in court for the scheduled sentencing, according to Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Kenneth Shapero.

The sentencing was rescheduled for Jan. 16 at 8:30am.

Aguilera was found guilty of two charges of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one charge of shooting into an occupied vehicle and one charge of reckless driving while fleeing police.

The jury trial ended in July; the attempted murder charges stemmed from a stabbing in Morgan Hill in January 2005 and a shooting in Gilroy in October 2004.
