An article in the Dec. 18 Morgan Hill Times headlined, “Mobile home park owner wants to double rent” incorrectly computed the proposed rent increase. The rent would increase 51 percent. Also, the story mistated that the City Council would have the final say in the matter. The Mobile Home Rent Commission made the final decision.
Also, a story in the Dec. 18 Morgan Hill Times business section headlined, “Merchants feel housing pinch” misattributed a quote that most foreclosed homes are just sitting on the market, and “what sells sells at a reduced price.” That statement was made by Michael Hutchison, a professor of economics at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
The Times makes a concerted effort to ensure fair and accurate reporting, but errors do occur. It’s our policy to acknowledge and correct significant errors promptly. Mistakes should be called to the attention of the editor by calling 779-4106.
