the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.
Erin O’Brien, the president and CEO of Community Solutions in Gilroy, was honored with the Unity in Diversity Award this week by the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.

Five awards were given – Supervisor Mike Wasserman presented the award to O’Brien – to recognize each recipients contributions of individuals and organizations in the county that are supporting diversity.

Community Solutions is a nonprofit human services agency serving Santa Clara County – from mental health to substance abuse to domestic violence issues. The nonprofit partners with other community organizations, law enforcement, schools and county health and human service providers. Their office is in Gilroy at 6980 Chestnut St.

O’Brien has working for Community Solutions since 1998 and “has been a catalyst for improved services within the nonprofit sector,” reads a press release. She is a licensed clinical social worker, holds a master’s in social work and a bachelor of arts in humanities.

“She is dedicated to ensuring children, youth, families and individuals are receiving the support and services that allow them to discover their potential and create positive changes in their lives,” said the press release.
