Local authorities are searching for a 17-year-old “person of interest” in a homicide that occurred early Saturday morning in Hollister.
A shooting was reported at 2:40 a.m. near Sherwood Drive and East Park Street in Hollister. Police discovered a woman who had been shot in the upper abdomen.
Responders immediately attempted life-saving efforts with the assistance of the Hollister Fire Department and American Medical Response, according to a statement from police. But the woman was pronounced dead a short time later, according to police.
Police did not immediately identify the woman or information about her.
Police and San Benito County sheriff’s investigators identified the person of interest and are actively searching for Robert Rodriguez, of Hollister. Residents with information regarding this incident should call Detective Sgt. George Ramirez at (831) 636-4330.
