The aging Encinal campus – home to Charter School of Morgan Hill for the last decade – will find itself looking a little brighter April 30. As part of the 10th annual “Comcast Cares Day,” Charter School was chosen for a makeover to the schools grounds.

Comcast employees and their families will join Charter students and parents to spend the morning repainting walls, planting, restriping the playground and cleaning up the grounds at the school at 9530 Monterey Road.

Across the United States, more than 62,000 Comcast employees will help to make a difference April 30 and 3,500 in California will volunteer at 17 schools affected by budget cuts, according to a press release.

The Comcast Foundation will also provide grants to local community partner organizations across the country on behalf of each employee and family member who volunteers on Comcast Cares Day. The grants will help Comcast’s community partners continue their mission of serving the community throughout the year.

“We are celebrating our 10th Comcast Cares Day which is an incredible milestone,” said Brian L. Roberts, Chairman and CEO, Comcast Corporation. “Since its inception in 2001, nearly 300,000 Comcast employees, their families and friends have contributed their time to their communities. This year, we will eclipse 2 million hours of service. Comcast Cares Day is about coming together to make a positive difference in our communities, and I couldn’t be more proud to serve alongside my fellow employees today as we continue in that mission.”
