– The Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras still needs volunteers for the festival May 28 and 29. Positions still open are wine and beer pourers, ticket sellers and sponsor VIP lounge. Volunteers are mostly needed Saturday and Sunday afternoon with a few shifts available Saturday and Sunday mornings.

PCAG meets today
– The Perchlorate Community Advisory Group will hold its quarterly meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. today, at the San Martin Lions Club, 12415 Murphy Ave., San Martin.
The public is encouraged to come and hear updates on the progress addressing the perchlorate plume, bottled water deliveries and what is happening at the state/national level regarding perchlorate. This is also an opportunity to ask questions or raise concerns.
Host an exchange student
– The North West Services PEACE program needs caring families to host high school exchange students next school year. Students hail from many different countries: Germany, Brazil, Korea, Japan, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Ecuador, Switzerland and Austria.
Students are between 15 and 18 years old and will arrive about a week before school starts in the fall to become part of an American family for one or two semesters. Students are pre-screened and speak English, have their own insurance and spending money to cover expenses such as clothing, school fees and entertainment.

‘Altered Reality’ at Morgan Hill House
– The Morgan Hill Photography Club and the Morgan Hill Historical Society are presenting a gallery show at the Morgan Hill House titled “Altered Reality.” The show features 41 original photographs that, through the use of computer software special effects, have been transformed into fantasy works of art. The Morgan Hill House is located at 17689 Monterey Road, and is open 12 to 3 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m Saturdays. The show runs though July 10. An open house reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, at the Morgan Hill House.
Skate and BMX contest
– Come out and show your skills in the monthly contest series from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the skate park, 171 W. Edmundson Ave. Music will play and food will be available for purchase. There is a $10 entry fee for participants. Spectators are free.

– Cherisse’s Hair Salon and the Morgan Hill Chapter of The Women’s Networking Alliance will hold a pet wash from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, at the depot parking lot. Proceeds benefit Air for Paws of Morgan Hill and Saint Francis of Assisi Spay and Vaccination Clinic of San Martin.
