Bow Wow Luau helps save pets
– Morgan Hill’s Air For Paws nonprofit group will hold its second annual Bow Wow Luau Golf Benefit Tournament at the Gilroy Golf Course on Aug. 26.
Activities include golf, games, refreshments and a barbecue. Proceeds from the event support fire and rescue personnel with specially-designed animal resuscitation kits that can save pets lives.

Gavilan aviation classes set to begin
– Students seeking careers in aviation can apply for fall admission to the Gavilan College program that is accredited by the Federal Aviation Administration. Fall aviation classes start Aug. 11. Open registration is now in effect. Fees are $36 per unit. Other Gavilan classes begin Aug. 31.

A batty trip at Calero County Park
– Take a ride to the Calero Bat Inn from 5 to 7 a.m. Aug. 13 and 5:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Aug. 27 at Calero County Park.
