Several hours after arresting a suspect in a June 12 stabbing, Gilroy police responded to another stabbing Saturday, this time at Miller Park.
About 8 p.m., officers responded to a reported fight at Miller Park involving 15 to 20 suspects, including one armed with a knife, according to the Gilroy Police Department.
Officers then located a stabbing victim, who was suffering from non-life threatening wounds to his extremities. The victim was treated at the scene and released. No other victims were located, police said.
The stabbing suspect and other combatants fled the scene prior to police arriving. The stabbing suspect was described as a Hispanic male between 25 and 30 years old, wearing a green baseball cap, white tank top shirt and blue shorts. He was armed with a knife and ran south onto Princevalle Street near Second Street, police said.
The stabbing suspect and weapon are still outstanding. The motivation for the crime is still under investigation but it is not believed to be gang related at this time, police said.
At 5:41 p.m. Saturday, police arrested Nicolas Jesse Young, 18, who is a suspect in a June 12 stabbing on Eigleberry Street that left one man in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
