– A free e-waste recycling event to benefit the Morgan Hill Youth Sports Alliance takes place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Outdoor Sports Complex, 16500 Condit Road. All types of office equipment and electronic items will be accepted. Drive up and drop off. There will be help unloading. Items not accepted include fluorescent bulbs, furniture, large appliances, refrigerators, paints and solvents, microwave ovens, paper shredders, power tools and vacuum cleaners. All proceeds allow more children to participate in sports.

A batty trip at Calero County Park

– Take a ride to the Calero Bat Inn from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, 5 to 7 a.m. Aug. 13 and 5:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Aug. 27 at Calero County Park. Bring a small beach chair or blanket, closed-toe shoes, bug spray, layered clothing and flashlight. Meet at the Calero Park office. Reservations are required.

Gavilan aviation classes set to begin

– Students seeking careers in aviation can apply for fall admission to the Gavilan College program that is accredited by the Federal Aviation Administration. Fall aviation classes start Aug. 11. Open registration is now in effect. Fees are $36 per unit. Other Gavilan classes begin Aug. 31.
