Will Apple survive without Steve Jobs?
”
THIS WEEK’S QUESTION:
“Will Apple survive without Steve Jobs?” Yes: 11 No: 1
? Karen Anderson: “Yes. However, his eye for innovation sets him apart from any who follow so it may not be the Apple we know.” n Dave Appling: “Yes. Jobs is a genius, but he’s not the only one at 1 Infinite Loop. As long as Tim Cook doesn’t succumb to temptation and mess with what works, Apple should be fine.”
? Bert Berson: “For a while things can go on without him. His flair for picking the right product drives Apple. Without him Apple could become just another company.”
? Chris Bryant: “Yes, but most likely its visionary pipeline will dry up and after a few years it will begin to languish.”
? Bob Chidester: “Yes. However it will be difficult to replace his vision, leadership and marketing genius.”
? David Cohen: “Yes, of course they will. The company may not have same cachet without Jobs, but the company will continue to be a player.”
? Mary Anne Groen: “Yes, Apple will survive without Jobs because it is no longer a fledgling company. Their brand loyalty is cult-status – just check out some of the blogs of Mac users fighting with the PC holdouts. I love my Mac(s) – long live Apple!”
? Dennis Kennedy: “Yes, but it won’t be the same. Apple will need to reinvent itself without Steve Jobs. If only they could capture what it was that he did that made Apple so successful.”
? Henry Miller: “Survive and flourish. The culture of his company, combined with the depth of his creative and effective team will last long after Steve Jobs. The company he created, not the gadgets, will be his legacy.”
? Jeff Nunes: “Yes. They’ve developed at least one, maybe two, of the only revolutionary consumer products of the last 50 years, it’s stock is doing fine, and it’s about to probably double it’s iPhone sales with the addition of Verizon as a provider. I think Apple will do more than just survive.”
? Lisa Pampuch: “Yes. Apple stores are the most profitable retail outlets, Apple’s computer products have the highest profit margins, and Apple dominates the smart phone, digital music sales and digital music player markets.”
? Steve Staloch: “Yes, just like GE did after Jack Welsh left, and the soon-to-be world champion Green Bay Packers after Brett Farve unreunretired. Jobs’ temporary or permanent departure will one day be only a chapter in the mega-corporation’s epic story.”
